Californians for Property Rights Protection (CPRP) is a coalition of homeowners, family farmers, small business owners, and other property owners (small and large) led by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, California Farm Bureau Federation, and The California Alliance to Protect Private Property Rights. Jon Coupal, Chairman, Californians for Property Rights Protection and President of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association -- California's largest taxpayer organization -- which is dedicated to the protection of Proposition 13 and promoting private property and taxpayers' rights.
CPRP leads the campaign and qualification effort for the California Property Owners & Farmland Protection Act: landmark property rights protection and eminent domain reform initiative headed to the ballot in June 2008. CPRP will turn in 1,000,000+ signatures to qualify this ballot initiative in November 2007. The initiative provides iron clad protections against government taking private property for private use --to build a shopping center, auto mall or industrial park--and it prevent government from setting the price at which property owners sell or lease their property.
