Jon Coupal, Chairman, Californians for Property Rights Protection and President of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association -- California's largest taxpayer organization -- which is dedicated to the protection of Proposition 13 and promoting private property and taxpayers' rights.
CPRP leads the campaign and qualification effort for the California Property Owners & Farmland Protection Act: landmark property rights protection and eminent domain reform initiative headed to the ballot in June 2008. CPRP will turn in 1,000,000+ signatures to qualify this ballot initiative in November 2007. The initiative provides iron clad protections against government taking private property for private use --to build a shopping center, auto mall or industrial park--and it prevent government from setting the price at which property owners sell or lease their property.
